Malunggay in Filipino (globally renowned as Moringa) is known as the ‘Miracle Tree’ because all of its parts — leaves, fruits, and roots — have something extraordinary to offer. It is native to regions of Africa and Asia, but it can grow almost anywhere and it has the ability to extract nutrients from the air and soil wherever it grows.
Malunggay is an all-purpose nutritional powerhouse having gram for gram seven times the vitamin C of an orange, four times the calcium in milk, four times the Vitamin A of carrots, two times the protein in milk and three times the potassium in a banana. Malunggay also contains more than 90 nutrients and 46 types of antioxidants. It has 18 amino acids, including eight essential ones. It also has four times the beta carotene of carrots in addition to omega-3 and chlorophyll.
Malunggay is also known to reduce cholesterol, control blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and combat diabetes and cancer.
